Athletes Cann is a platform for athletes of all caliber to become involved in the cannabis vs opiate discussion. Whether an All-Pro or a weekend Joe participating in athletics can come with a price. For too long the opiate industry has controlled the medicines prescribed to deal with injury in sports. Our experience as athletes and our stories of opiate addiction through injury is a conversation needed to be had across the world for far too long. Understanding that through our active lifestyles injuries will occur it is time for all athletes to demand that our educators and doctors begin the open discussion of cannabis as an alternative medicine choice. We can no longer stand silent as our families and teammates fall victim to the horrific opiate addiction epidemic killing our best and brightest at unprecedented rates. The negative side-effects printed on pharmaceutical bottles have long been evident as our country is being decimated daily by addiction and 'Suicide' in our communities. From the NFL to the X-Games our greatest achievements and dreams in sports are under siege. It is time for all committed athletes and weekend warriors that choose to address injury through cannabis over opiates to stand and contribute their stories and stand for Cannabis. I have told my story because I know I am not alone please join me today in the fight against 'Athlete Suicide' Together we CANN change this conversation.

CannMed 2016: Personalized Cannabinoid Medicine Conference focused on the intersection of these three powerful fields: cannabinoid-based therapies, personalized medicine, and mobile technologies.
Thank you to our speakers, poster presenters, and sponsors who helped to make CannMed 2016 a successful event for all who attended. This annual research conference showcases the people, companies, and key thought leaders working with the endocannabinoid system and medical concepts for the use of cannabinoid therapeutics in neurological disorders.
With over 27 US states and several countries now legalizing medicinal use of cannabis, the endocannabinoid system is becoming an important public health topic and a rich area of discovery for novel therapeutic interventions. With the recent advent of next generation sequencing and the enablement of personalized medicine, never before in history have we been as well-positioned to better understand the genetics and regulation of the endocannabinoid system. Likewise, the intersection of mobile analytical technologies is enabling a new field of safety testing for production of cannabinoids.
