Raphael Mechoulam, Ph.D.
Dr. Mechoulam is a pioneer in the field of cannabis research and a discoverer of the endocannabinoid system. Dr. Mechoulam is an Israeli organic chemist and professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel. He was among the first to complete the total synthesis of the major plant cannabinoids Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabidiol, cannabigerol, and others. Dr. Mechoulam also played a key role in the isolation of the first described endocannabinoid anandamide.
Prof. Mechoulam received his Masters Degree in Biochemistry from the Hebrew University in 1952 and his Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute in 1958 where he studied under Professor F. Sondheimer. He completed his postdoctoral research at the Rockefeller Institute. Dr. Mechoulam is currently with the Institute for Drug Research at the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He is former Rector of the University and is a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Mechoulam has received many honours, including honorary doctorates from Spain and USA, the Israel Prize in 2000 and the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. In 2012, he received the Rothschild Prize. His research interests are in the field of the chemistry and biological activity of natural products and medicinal agents. His main contributions are in the field of the constituents of cannabis and the endogenous cannabinoids found in the brain and the periphery. He has published extensively on their pharmacological activities.

Dr Michael Dor MD
Michael Dor is the MPA Chief Medical Consultant, Medical Cannabis Unit for the Ministry of Health in Jerusalem, Israel. Dr Dor earned his medical degree at Tel Aviv University followed by his Diploma in Health Services and in Family Medicine through the Israeli Medical Association. Dr. Dor then completed his Masters in Public Administration at Harvard University – Kennedy School of Government. Dr. Dor’s commitment to providing quality healthcare for the people of Israel has led him to holding multiple leadership roles within his career, including Director of Emergency Walk-In Clinic – Jerusalem, Israel; Head of Community Medicine Division – Israeli Ministry of Health; and Deputy Director of All Medical Services – Israeli Ministry of Health. In 2014, he was honored with Presidential Award for volunteer work he did to establish a clinic for un-insurred illegal immigrant and victims of human trafficking. Today, Dr. Dor is active as a family physician and also serves as the Chief Medical Officer – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Medical Head Advisor of the Medical Cannabis Unit for the Israeli Ministry of Health.
Jeff has spent most of his career working in high-growth industries in a variety of financial and operational roles. He joined MGCs Advisory team after seeing the mounting evidence of the medicinal benefits of the cannabis plant. Previously Jeff worked with Courtagen Life Sciences Inc. as CFO. Jeff worked with the many members of the management team at Courtagen previously as the Controller of Agencourt Bioscience. Jeff joined the Agencourt team when Beckman Coulter acquired Agencourt in 2005 and led the integration efforts of the two companies. Prior to joining Courtagen, Jeff was Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Operations at World Triathlon Corporation. In this capacity, Jeff worked closely with the CEO, Private Equity sponsor and the Board on strategic growth initiatives. He also led corporate development efforts including acquisitions, divestitures and strategic partnerships and designed KPI measurement tools for the organization. Jeff’s other experience includes working at Ernst & Young both advising Private Equity and Corporate clients on M&A related activities and performing financial statement audits for public and privately held corporations. Additionally, Jeff worked at Beckman Coulter in the SEC reporting group and was responsible for preparing the 10K, 10Q and other SEC filings. Jeff received a Masters of Science in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Bentley University. Jeff is a certified public accountant and is a member of the AICPA and MSCPA.
David Baron has been in business development and management in the technology industry since 1996. Prior to Medicinal Genomics, David was responsible for sales at IDG Connect, a direct marketing group that features lead generation services and access to a multi-million name database of IT buyers, where he managed both the sales team and provided online lead generation consulting services for both IT vendors and agencies. Previously, David worked as Director of Sales, booth and sponsorship sales, for both Networld + Interop Conference & Exposition as well as Comdex, North Americas largest trade show that yielded over 2000 exhibitors and 200,000 attendees. When not in the office, David enjoys playing tennis, snowboarding and taking long walks with his Australian Shepherd , Jazmine.
